Giving Tuesday refers to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. Years ago, as the day after Thanksgiving became known as Black Friday, consumers adopted the notion that it was the day best set aside for bargain shopping for everyone on the giving list. The notion took off, and Black Friday has become a successful way to promote holiday gift buying. But even the Grinch Who Stole Christmas will tell you that we celebrate much more than just a chance to open gifts!
