We are beyond grateful for our incredible community, who checked in on us, helped restock our pantry, and supported our cleanup efforts after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. We are so grateful we were able to keep our kids safe and comfortable during the storms. Being stuck inside, the kids spent the rainy days inside playing board games, Twister, working on art projects like Lumi bracelets, and watching movies. With all the stress that comes with uncertain times like this, we are so proud of the positive attitudes our kids showed everyday. Our kids and staff truly shined even after the storm, working side by side to clear debris and restore our campus. A special shoutout goes to The Children’s Board and KeHE Cares Foundation; thanks to their support, we installed generators in each of our homes earlier this year, and they worked perfectly during both storms while we waited for power to be restored. Unfortunately, our large generator, which powers our walk-in fridge, freezer, and lift station (sewer) for the entire campus, did not activate. Replacing it has now become a top priority for the upcoming year. Thankfully, the damage to our campus was minimal, limited to tree and fence repairs, and we only lost a small amount of food. We are estimating about $221,000 for the necessary campus repairs and the purchase of a new generator for our administration building. If you feel moved to support us, please consider making a donation to help support our campus.
