A global threat like COVID-19 touches everyone, and gives us an opportunity to all come together!
Like many families across the globe, our family at A Kid’s Place has been busy adjusting to the challenges and changes we face as a result of COVID-19. From hiring additional staff to assist with e-learning, trying to keep up with the increased demand of food needed to keep 60 tummies full, and planning for the future of our program during these times of uncertainty to ensure that we can continue to provide a safe and loving home to brothers and sisters in foster care. We sympathize with you and everyone effected by this pandemic but remain hopeful that together we will get through this.
Our Administrative building is now home to the AKP elementary, middle, and high school campus. Every nook and cranny of space is filled with 60 children on various devices completing school work. And while our staff is busy with the everyday operations of our program, they wear additional hat’s assisting where needed. Like April Horton, our Quality Improvement manager who also serves as a teacher for some of our 2nd graders in addition to preparing for DCF License renewal and ensuring that all of our ducks are in a row to maintain our CARF accreditation.
As we look forward to the summer, we are excited and hopeful for the brothers and sisters we serve. Withsummer on the horizon we understand that our summer camp might look a little different this year. Our goal is to continue to create a summer full of amazing memories for the children on campus, and we need your help to do that!
