As we reflect on a remarkable journey spanning 15 years, we are filled with gratitude and admiration for the
extraordinary dedication and unwavering commitment Fred Lay has demonstrated as valued
Board Members of A Kid’s Place. We thank him for his invaluable time and contributions during his tenure on
our board of directors. He will always be a part of our AKP family!

What brought you to AKP and when did you get involved?
As I recall, Dottie Berger MacKinnon volun-told me I
was getting involved the same day she conceived the
idea of AKP.

What inspired you to become and remain a donor & volunteer
of AKP?
The kids, simple. The kids.

What part of your involvement has meant the most to you?
Seeing AKP become what it is today and how so many
kids have benefitted from the services provided over
the years.

What do you hope happens next at AKP and what do you wish
your legacy to be at AKP?

The growth of services/ Fred Lay was a small part of the
foundation of The Kids Place.

What is your favorite indoor/outdoor
activity?
Racing cars. Family Gatherings

Proudest moment?
When one of my daughters feels the need
to give back.

Who inspires you?
Folks that work in the nonprofit sector.

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or
dead, who would you want to meet?
