Residential Care for Children | A Kid’s Place Tampa Bay

Residential Care

When children can no longer live safely with their families, A Kid’s Place becomes their home — a safe, stable environment where healing begins and childhood is protected.

Our residential foster care program meets each child’s full range of needs: emotional, social, medical, educational, and psychological. It provides the consistency and care that allows kids to feel safe, heal, and just be kids, because every child deserves to be a kid.

From family-style dinners and bedtime routines to weekend outings and birthday celebrations, our homes are filled with warmth, structure, and experiences that help children build trust and create memories that will last a lifetime.

How We Support Each Child’s Journey

At A Kid’s Place, we believe every child deserves more than just a safe place to stay; they deserve care that honors who they are and what they’ve been through. Whether a child is staying with us for days or years, our trauma-informed team works closely with each one to provide a consistent, nurturing environment that supports healing and growth.

On-Site Case Management

At our children’s care home, our Unit Supervisors act as dedicated liaisons, coordinating with placement agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and families. They ensure each child receives the individualized services and support they need to thrive.

Medical, Dental & Vision Care

Every child in our care receives comprehensive medical attention — from routine checkups and immunizations to dental cleanings, vision screenings, and specialist care. These services help build self-confidence and ensure no health issue goes overlooked.

Therapy

Healing starts with understanding. Our therapists provide trauma-informed counseling and crisis support to help children process what they’ve experienced and begin moving forward with strength and hope. Sometimes during children’s residential care sessions, we discover additional therapeutic needs and work with our community partners for specialized therapy.

Normalcy Activities

All children deserve to feel included and celebrated. Normalcy activities allow our children to access the same experiences as their peers. Experiences like visits to museums, concerts, movies, and amusement parks create lifelong memories and promote well-being and healthy development.
