A Safe Haven for Abused and Neglected Children
Every child deserves a safe place to call home.
At A Kid’s Place, we give children in foster care a chance to heal, stay safely with their siblings, and experience the childhood they’ve always deserved.
A Kid’s Place provides a safe, loving, and nurturing home for children in foster care.
The children who come here have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. They carry the weight of trauma no child should have to bear.
Here, we give them a piece of their childhood back and the freedom to simply be a kid, often for the first time in their lives. Each child receives comprehensive care that meets their physical, emotional, social, educational, and psychological needs.
There is no quick fix. Healing is a lifelong journey, and it begins here.
have been given a second chance since our doors opened
Thousands of children in foster care in the Greater Tampa Bay area are in need of a safe place to call home.
A Kid’s Place fulfills that need. Without us, many of these children would be separated from their siblings or placed in unstable environments. We have the people, the compassion, and the knowledge to step in with a better option for these children, but we can’t do it alone.
Your support helps us deliver the comprehensive, individualized services that each of our children needs and deserves. It means access to therapy, education and medical care, and a chance to experience the simple joys of childhood.
Give today to make an immediate, lasting impact in a child’s life.

AKP Capital Campaign
We’re constructing a new 12,000‑sq‑ft activity center and renovating housing to support young adults aging out of foster care.
The MacKinnon Family Activity Center will ensure every child has access to the opportunities they need to grow, heal and achieve success.
Your gift today will build a better and brighter future for children who need it most.
As Foster Care Stays Lengthen, A Kid's Place Expands its Mission.
Many children entering foster care after years of instability need more shelter. They need consistent adults, stable routines and the chance to remain with their brothers and sisters long enough to feel safe, trust others and simply be children again.

Take 5 with Ryan
If you’re looking for some encouragement, take some advice from Ryan, age 7!
Ryan’s advice to his friends who may be afraid of trying new things is simply, ‘Just do it, you got this!’.
Being with his brother makes him feel brave and family is the thing that brings him happiness!
Celebrating different holidays brings joy to us all and if Ryan could add to the holidays he would like to create Bubble Season where everyone gets bubbles!
