Education Program
Many of the children who come into our care have experienced interrupted schooling or significant academic delays. That’s why we provide individualized education in foster care, meeting each child where they are academically, emotionally, and developmentally to create an environment where learning feels safe, achievable, and even fun.
Individualized Education in Foster Care
The Hillsborough County Classroom
In partnership with Hillsborough County Schools, we offer an on-site classroom for students in grades K–5 who need additional support to get back on track. The small class size and one-on-one attention help children build confidence, develop foundational skills, and thrive at their own pace, preparing them for a smooth transition back to a traditional school setting.
Angie, a quiet 9 year old girl, arrived at A Kid’s Place having never attended school. She didn’t know how to recognize, spell, or write her name. Given the right atmosphere and patient guidance of her teacher in our on-site classroom, Angie blossomed. After a year, she was able to transfer to the local elementary school and went on to earn Honor Roll repeatedly. All she needed was someone to see her potential and the time and care to help her reach it.

Summer Camp
Learning doesn’t stop when school’s out. Thanks to generous donors and grant partners, our children attend summer camps based on their interests and personalities.
Adventurers love Camp Osprey’s archery and kayaking. Budding animal lovers thrive on behind-the-scenes tours at Busch Gardens. Others find joy in dance, art, or swimming lessons at the local YMCA.
Summer camp provides more than fun; it gives children the chance to build friendships, explore new interests, and return to school with stories and confidence, just like their peers.
