The kids from our Lazydays Employee Foundation House recently spent a rewarding weekend giving back to the local community by volunteering a total of six hours at a special neighborhood event. This wonderful opportunity came through a continued partnership with Little Orphan Ashley and the monthly give-back initiatives organized by ULOC of Tampa.
The connection first started last year during a summer art program, and the youth have stayed involved ever since. Because the Lazydays House had volunteered with the group before, the kids were incredibly excited to sign up again when they heard about the weekend event.
During their six-hour shift, the kids jumped right in to help ULOC in their mission to fight hunger. The kids helped with ULOC’s free food pantry program and were eager to do their part to help families facing food insecurity.
Throughout the day, the kids practiced teamwork, and although it was hard work, they truly enjoyed the entire experience! More importantly, they walked away feeling a deep sense of pride knowing that their hard work made a positive impact on the people around them.
House Parent Mrs. G shared how valuable these moments are for the youth, noting that experiences like these help teach our kids the importance of service, compassion, and working together. The kids are already looking forward to joining future volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Lazydays House and the AKP team are incredibly grateful to Little Orphan Ashley for providing such a meaningful partnership for our children!
