For children and teens living in foster care, lots can feel uncertain. That is why creating a sense of “normalcy” for the children who reside at A Kid’s Place is at the heart of everything we do. Normalcy means giving kids regular, everyday childhood experiences. True healing can begin with those comforting, everyday moments.
Our campus features 7 homes designed to feel like real family houses, allowing brothers and sisters living in foster care to stay together under one roof. Every evening, our House Parents cook warm, fresh meals right in the kitchen. Everyone gathers around to eat family-style meals. There are lots of hands passing dishes around and kids sharing stories about the school day.

Keeping our family homes stocked and humming takes a serious team effort. Every single week, our campus powers through over 200 laundry pods, 108 gallons of gasoline, 50 boxes of cereal, 40 gallons of milk, and 30 dozen eggs.
To keep up with all those hungry bellies, we have our very own campus grocery area, fully stocked with a full walk-in fridge and freezer, a snack pantry, and all the essential staples! Our House Parents and kids have access to the food and supplies they need to cook up delicious meals.

Creating a sense of normalcy is about far more than just providing food and shelter. It’s about showing our youth that they are valued and supported. It’s about them knowing they are never alone. Thanks to our dedicated staff and supportive community, A Kid’s Place continues to be a safe haven where children in foster care can truly feel at home while having the resources to prepare for whatever comes next for them.
