The energy at A Kid’s Place is high as our kids jump into the new school year! Many children in our care have previously faced disrupted schooling or academic delays, making the start of a new grade an extra big milestone. At AKP, we focus on meeting each child where they are by building custom plans so learning feels exciting and achievable.
With support from AKP’s on-site tutors, our children get the extra boost they need to succeed at the start of and throughout the school year. For elementary school students needing focused prep, our on-site K–5 partner classroom with Hillsborough County Schools offers one-on-one support so they can build confidence before stepping into a traditional school setting. Looking ahead, we are especially excited for our new Activity Center to open this fall, which will offer even more learning resources, including a large computer lab and flexible classroom spaces to support our youth.
To kick off the new year, our kids gathered for a peer discussion to share their back-to-school excitement. The kids talked about their favorite subjects and what they are looking forward to the most. Miranda expressed how excited she is for hands-on experiments in her 8th-grade science class, while Sassha shared her love for math because “it teaches me to be smart.”
As our children embark on this exciting school year, the continued support of our community helps ensure they have every supply and opportunity needed to reach their full potential. Together, we are creating a nurturing environment where every every child can dream big!
