If school is all about reading, writing, and arithmetic, then summer camp is crafts, games, and science experiments! At A Kid’s Place, summer camp is a time for children in foster care to laugh, explore, and discover new talents! From colorful crafts and outdoor games to hands-on science experiments, this is a time that creativity will take center stage.
With around 60 children calling A Kid’s Place home, we’ve got plenty of energy and creativity to go around! Your donations help keep the fun going strong. Every item you donate helps our children enjoy a summer full of imagination, connection, and learning (but we promise to make it fun!). Every activity helps our kids create joyful memories that last far beyond summer break.
To make all the fun possible, we’re gathering some of the unique supplies that help turn ordinary days into extraordinary adventures.
Here’s what we’re looking for this year:
- 8 x 10 canvas (60)
- 16 fl oz paint (red, yellow, orange, purple, gold, silver, aqua, peach, light blue, pink)
- Full-size candy bars
- Individualized fruit snacks
- Cans of soda (caffeine-free)
- Jewels (medium and large containers)
- 4 ft wide x 250 ft long silhouette paper
- Sandpaper
- Bingo prizes
- Toilet paper
- Recorders (musical instruments)
- Ace bandages
