Thank You, Lazydays Employee Foundation! | A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay

Thank You, Lazydays Employee Foundation!

A Kid’s Place opened in 2009, and since those early days, Lazydays RV has stood beside us and supported our mission to provide a safe, loving and nurturing home for foster children. Immediately after hearing about the development of A Kid’s Place and learning about the project, the Lazydays Employee Foundation pledged to sponsor a house. The employees quickly went to work to raise the pledge money for the Lazydays House, which was accomplished in great part through payroll deductions and internal fundraisers.
Over the years, the Lazydays Employee Foundation has donated an incredible $1.4 million to support our programs and the children we serve. On Wednesday, we were honored to receive a final gift of $300,000 from the Foundation to help complete our new Activity Center, which will be a joyful space where our children can play, learn, gather and heal together.

In addition to their generous financial support, the Lazydays team also organized a drive for our children and brought snacks, essentials, and gifts.

During the presentation, Dana Philp, the inaugural foundation President, shared a quote from Lazydays RV co-founder Don Wallace that truly touched our hearts:

“To make a rope, it takes a lot of individual strings.”

Though Don couldn’t be there in person, his words perfectly captured the spirit of our partnership. Every donation, every hour volunteered and every act of kindness are all a strand in the strong rope that Lazydays employees built together to help children climb toward brighter, more hopeful futures.

From all of us at A Kid’s Place, thank you to the entire Lazydays family for your compassion, generosity, and unwavering support over the past 16 years. Together, you have made something strong enough to last a lifetime.
