A Kid’s Place of Tampa Bay strives to improve educational outcomes for foster children. On-site toddler, pre-school, and elementary classes help our youngest learners create a solid foundation on which to build a life-long love of learning. For those children not educated on campus, the local elementary, middle, and high schools provide the academics and activities that are so important to children in their formative years.
Each year, A Kid’s Place organizes a Back to School Drive to collect the school supplies each child needs to start the school year. Last year Cruz, age 9, proudly chose a backpack and stocked it full of the required supplies. “This is the first time I’ve ever been able to bring something in,” he explained. “My mom never had money to buy school supplies, so I had to tell the teacher that I didn’t have paper or one of those cool calculators.” Thanks to the generosity of donors, children like Cruz are able to start the school year with what they need to be successful.
