Friday the 13th may be an unlucky day for some people, but not for HEROES! On May 13th at TPepin Hospitality Centre, attendees at our annual luncheon were treated to a fabulous lunch and program. Harold Oehler accepted the Guardian Angel Award on behalf of the Lazydays Employee Foundation, sharing a story with the audience about his own experiences volunteering at A Kid’s Place. Harold explained how the Lazydays Employee Foundation chose A Kid’s Place to support with their time and financial support. “Giving back is one of the most rewarding things we can do, and working with the children at A Kid’s Place was life-changing for me.”
The highlight of the luncheon was the viewing of “Removed,” a poignant video narrated by a child who was removed from her home and separated from her brother. Many donors commented that they really had no idea what a foster child went through before being placed at A Kid’s Place. This film provided a very real, very honest look at what happens before A Kid’s Place enters the picture.
Thank you to our sponsors and donors for helping to make this such a successful luncheon!
