Family, friends, and business and community leaders will join Mayor Pam Iorio for the dedication of the Dottie Berger MacKinnon Children’s Playground. The event will take place on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
The playground is being dedicated in recognition of Dottie Berger MacKinnon’s commitment and inspiration to the community. Berger MacKinnon is involved in numerous community programs, agencies, and non-profit organizations including the Joshua House and A Kid’s Place.
The Dottie Berger MacKinnon Children’s Playground is located in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park along the Tampa Riverwalk. The playground features an interactive NEOS 360 Ring, which was donated by the Friends of Tampa Recreation, and is the first of its kind in the southeast United States.
