For abused and neglected children living in foster care holidays and other special occasions can be an especially difficult time. Many of our children hope to be reunited with their loved ones during the holidays. They look forward to the same things as you and I. Hot meals being made in the kitchen, decorating the tree, laughter, music playing, time with family and friends, gifts, and creating memories. But often spend the holiday season  disappointed when that doesn’t happen. Imagine what that feels like.

Over the past 12 years, A Kid’s Place has worked hard to try and fill the void left in the hearts of our children. Each year through our Holiday Gift Drive, our community of Santa’s Elves come together to help us provide a memorable holiday season to our children as well as other foster children throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Our children attend various parties, take pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, decorate gingerbread houses, turn in wish list to Santa, and create new traditions with their AKP family. We know that we cannot do this alone and we are grateful for everyone who donates their time, talent, and treasures to make this season bright for our kids.
